Peach: The Cat Who Adopted Us!

Hi family and friends! It's been a long while since I did a post, and this one is way overdue!

A couple years ago, he showed up one day out of nowhere—a young, quiet, peach tabby cat passing by outside our house. I didn’t think much of it at first. He didn’t beg or meow, just passing by, coming and going here and there like he was keeping "tabs" on us (pun intended).

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. We gave in and started setting out a small bowl of food and water every day. That’s all it took. From that moment on, Peach was a regular. He’d be there most every evening when we got home from work, waiting by the door like a fuzzy little sentinel.

He was very friendly and had no issues with us approaching him and petting him. Eventually, he ended up on my lap, and we developed the kind of trust that only comes with time.

One day, it was snowing and so cold outside that we couldn’t stand the thought of him being outside—so Anita and I built him a heavy-duty cardboard, insulated house that we tucked under a porch table where he slept nearly every night. We would have loved to have brought him in, but at that point we had already adopted Chandler.

I could go on with all the amazing details of this story, but then it wouldn’t be a blog post anymore. It would be an epic novel!

It’s funny how love sometimes arrives quietly, without fanfare. No big moment—just a cat who kept showing up.

We had to have him. He didn’t even have to “steal” our hearts…we gave them to him.

And the best part of this story is that we always say, “I adopted him or her…,” but this love story is a two-way street…Peach adopted us too!

Anita and I are proud fir baby parents of two cats now.

Welcome home Peach, it’s good having you on this side of the window…and thank you for adopting us too!

Thanks for following along, and if you haven’t already, please subscribe from the home page and share the link! God bless!
