Giving Grace

One of the Scriptures on my mind right now is that we should give to others according to what we have.
“Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.”
2 Corinthians 8:12 NLT
This made me think about what I have…more specifically, what I have received from God, & I’m not speaking of material things to include money. A focus on those things can make people “too comfortable” to seek God & I can’t say I met someone that came to God because their life was “too comfortable”! LOL!
Going deeper into thought, I then asked myself what things don’t I have & Holy Spirit really starting working on me with this question!
Long story short, I realized all over again that I have received EVERYTHING I need to live a Godly life! Sometimes we need a refresher, right?!?
“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.”
2 Peter 1:3 NLT
So now, I want y’all to have a Q & A session like I did & run with it during your next prayer time. Sound good? I will start you off with a few. Let’s go!
Q: Are you angry at yourself or someone right now?
A: You can’t give something that you don’t have. Receive God’s peace & you will be able to have peace for yourself to give to others.
Q: Are you standing in unforgiveness with yourself or someone right now?
A: You can’t give something that you don’t have. Receive God’s forgiveness & you will be able to have forgiveness for yourself to give to others.
Q: Do you hate yourself or someone right now?
A: You can’t give something that you don’t have. Receive God’s love & you will be able to have love for yourself to give to others.
And finally…
Q: Do you need grace right now? Does someone need your grace right now?
A: You can’t give something that you don’t have. Receive God’s grace & you will be able to have grace for yourself to give to others.
Not only does receiving & giving grace prevent anger from turning into unforgiveness & hatred, Grace helps maintain & promote peace & love!
Be gracious because all of us are struggling with different things. Let’s not be the cause of someone’s struggle but let’s be the cause of someone receiving grace. Even more, let’s give grace eagerly!
God bless you all & if you haven’t already, please subscribe to my blog from the home page. Anita & I send our love to you.
