Happy Birthday Anita!

I think it’s really cool that Anita’s birthday is September 2nd & mine is the 9th, so unless it’s a leap year (which is why we weren’t born on the same day), our birthdays are exactly a week apart & on the same day of the week every year! Cool huh?
I usually do a gift a day up until my birthday, but this year I changed it up a bit.
Our itinerary:
Day of (yesterday):
I decorated the house with balloons on the walls.
She opened her gift to find 6 rolls of beautiful yarn & a devotional book.
I surprised her with “Just Wings” for dinner. I got lemon pepper boneless wings & apple bbq boneless wings with tons of curly fries.
Dessert was a mini ice cream cake & cheesecake. Yummo!
And today is the real big change up! We’re going to the trampoline park & then Golden Corral buffet afterwards! Never too old!
I’m writing this post before we leave & I’m so excited I can hardly wait!
But the underlying topic of this post is really about being true to who you are no matter who you’re speaking to or hanging out with. Anita is a great example of this. She’s honest, friendly, funny & fearless no matter the people or circumstances around her. I’m blessed to have her as my wife.
What brought this message on was, believe it or not, the restaurant where I got the wings. Just Wings.
The food was great but they are a “virtual restaurant” as Door Dash calls it. They don’t have their own building with their name on it, rather, they are inside a Chili’s restaurant. If we didn’t have the technology to order food online or have gps, there’s a smaller chance anyone would find them.
Without internet, the only avenues they would really have to advertise on would be radio, physical signs like billboards & word-of-mouth, like old times, right? Nothing wrong with that if you ask me.
So the question is, do we put up a face when it comes to Social Media (a virtual side) or are we true to who we are no matter online or in person?
Are we hiding under the mask under another “profile”? A “false front”?
Does the “sign” we put on ourself (such as being a Christian) always match up to who we really are?
I want to encourage us to be people of integrity.
The Bible says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8 NLT.
I encourage us to do the same as our Lord…to be the same person all the time, no matter the people or circumstances around us.
Alrighty y’all, (speaking of being true to who you are - I’m Texan lol), that’s the word for today & now I’m going to work on breakfast & then we’re going to pack up & hit the road!
Here are some pictures of the food & if you haven’t already, please subscribe to my blog from the home page. Thank you!

Hope it’s ok if I borrow your Excuses quote! I have procrastinators in my life! 💜
Happy birthday to both of you. So glad you were born.
many thanks for the kindness of heaven you bring into the earth.
I hope you both have a great day
