His Last Salute

When we are young, & have both parents, & especially if they’re still together, it’s a HUGE blessing.

Not meaning any dishonor to my parents, but that was my story for only a short while.

My parents did separate when I was young, & as I got older, I realized what a blessing it was to just have them both alive, even if they were no longer together.

But even though they were both alive, I had very little contact with my father.

Then in 2018, I prayed with my mother in the hospital to believe on the Lord Jesus, in which she did, & 3 months later, she went home to be with the Lord.

I write now with a heavy chest but with a joyful spirit that I also was able to pray over my father…who went to be with the Lord on December 17th this year.

I want to honor my father who was a commander in the Navy. I know from other family & friends that he helped a lot of people too & thought the best of others. These will be some of the memories that will stay with me…

But there’s one that touches me so very deeply that I want to share…

In one of the last times that I could understand him while he was laying in the hospital bed, he said “beautiful woman" & turned sideways reaching for my beautiful wife Anita, in which she leaned in, they connected eyes, & he was rubbing her cheek as if to say “take care of my son as you always have.”

Family & friends, I salute my dad & thank God for his life. Please pray for me & my family as we move forward down here without him, but with the knowledge that we will see him again in heaven.

Honor your parents & be grateful for them. No one knows how much time we have. Bye for now daddy.
