I pray everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We sure did! Although I’m a huge “foodie” as ya’ll know, the food is just a small portion of what it’s all about! But not to say that I’m not thankful for the little feast we had with our church family friends!
We had a special treat this year! The crackers & cheese were a great appetizer as the wonderful chicken noodle vegetable soup simmered in the pot. Oyster crackers crowned our bowls of soup & the marshmallow dip with some of our favorite fruits were the perfect dessert!
It’s the day after Thanksgiving now & as I sit back & relax enjoying the extra days off, my heart is thankful for this time of year. I absolutely love Fall & find myself wishing it would stay this way all year long!
Fall is characterized by a vibrant tapestry of colors as leaves change from green, to hues of red, orange, & yellow. The air becomes crisp & there's a gentle chill, inspiring cozy PJ’s & a cuddling by the “fire” with my beautiful Anita. Harvest festivals celebrate abundance, & the flavor & aroma of pumpkin spice permeates the atmosphere. Days gradually shorten, leading to earlier evenings as nature prepares for the coming winter.
Yes, let’s stay here…
But as time goes on, seasons must change with it.
I found in life most things change, however, I also found that there are a few things that we don't ever have to change...like having a thankful heart. This is my encouragement to you today. Always have a thankful heart.
I thought of a fun activity that I wanted to share with you. I wondered how many words I could make out of the word Thanksgiving that could represent what I'm thankful for, after all, Thanksgiving is for giving thanks!
So here goes!
KING - Thankful for King Jesus
SAVING - Thankful for my salvation
SAINT - Thankful for my wife Anita
KIN - Thankful for my family/friends
VISIT- Thankful for time with family/friends
GAIN - Thankful for God’s blessings
SING - Thankful to sing God’s praises
I think that pretty well sums it up!
