We are farmers! Did that State Farm commercial with their “we are farmers” jingle come to mind? I’m singing it in my head right now! Lol!
But the truth is, we are farmers! We are Gospel Farmers!
The Bible is full of analogies using seeds & watering in regards to our spiritual states & ministry.
Today I just want to remind us all to be careful of what seeds we’re sowing in our own lives & the lives of others.
So what do seeds look like?
Seeds are anything that affect someone (including yourself) in any way, such as the way we treat people, the words we use, our tone, body language & even the way we look at people.
God made us pretty perceptive & personally, a lot of times, I can tell when someone doesn’t like me just by the way they look at me, let alone using words! And I’m sure you’re the same way too.
So do you have bad memories of how someone treated you? Of someone saying something hurtful? Of someone speaking in a bad tone to you? Of someone rolling their eyes at your ideas/opinions/feelings? Of someone leering at you? Usually these memories are attached to a specific person or a group of people.
I ask these questions because I know we’ve all experienced these things & we still remember a lot of them…because they are seeds. If you are still emotionally affected by these, please pray & ask for God’s healing & for you to be able to forgive. Doing this will uproot that bad seed. I have to do the same.
So today, I encourage you to be kind, watch your words, speak gently, be aware of your body language & smile at everyone. Plant good seeds!
Even a smile can make someone’s day!
Here’s my custom tumbler I made a while back that reminds me of who I am & what I do. I’m a farmer, a Gospel Farmer, & so are you! I made Anita a special one too…but I’ll save hers for another blog post!
